GameCube: Sonic Mega Collection, Complete (PLAYERS CHOICE)
Sonic Mega Collection - need we say more? It's a collection. Of Sonic games. And, for want of a better word, it's, er, Mega. To be more precise, Sonic Mega Collection features seven classic games starring everyone's favourite blue, spiky hedgehog, as well a host of additional content, including character illustrations, movies and comic book covers. If you're a self-confessed Sonic enthusiast then you need this game. Sonic the Hedgehog Kicking things off, the original Sonic the Hedgehog needs no introduction: avoid traps and crazed robots as you dash through six hazardous Zones of three lightning fast Acts, coming face to face with the evil Dr. Robotnik at the end of every third Act. If you have 50 Rings at the end of any Act, you can warp to the Secret Zone by grabbing the giant gold Ring; here you can collect the Chaos Emeralds. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Sonic the Hedgehog 2 sees you avoid traps and Badniks as you guide Sonic and his sidekick Tails through 10 different Zones on the trail once more of the mad scientist Dr. Robotnik. The game has three Regular Zones (2 Acts each) and a Special Stage. Player 1 moves Sonic through the Zone on the top half of the screen and Player 2 moves Tails through the same Zone on the bottom half. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Sonic and Knuckles In the third and fourth instalments the premise is pretty much the same - dodge Badniks and traps, collect Rings, and uncover Chaos Emeralds as you guide Sonic and his sidekick through different Zones on the trail of you-know-who. Each player can control Sonic, Tails or Knuckles and compete in split-screen mode. Sonic 3D Flickies' Island Sonic's first venture into (albeit isometric) 3D sees Sonic travel to Flicky Island, only to find that Dr. Robotnik has turned the mysterious birds known as Flickies into vicious robots. In the game players help Sonic to rescue his friends and foil the deranged scientist's fiendish plot. Sonic the Hedgehog Spinball The deranged scientist Dr. Robotnik is once again turning the animals of Mobius into robots using his monstrous contraption the Veg-O-Fortress. Only Sonic can penetrate the pinball defence system, free the animals, collect the Emeralds and put a stop to his fiendish plan. Players use Sonic as a pinball and work their way up through the Veg-O-fortress uncovering concealed passageways, collecting Emeralds and avoiding deadly traps. Dr Robotniks' Mean Bean Machine Dr. Robotnik is changing the jolly folk of Beanville into devious little robots that will help rid Planet Mobius of music and fun forever. In this Tetris-style puzzle game, players group the beans together to help them escape while working their way up to the wilier henchbots. The idea is to remove the beans by stacking four of the same coloured beans together and attack your opponent by creating chain reactions. Beans drop from the top of the dungeon in pairs. When two beans of the same colour touch, they will link. When four or more beans are linked together, they disappear from the dungeon.
